Yes. KubeSpade is a desktop Kubernetes GUI for macOS, Windows, and Linux. It connects with kubeconfig, EKS, GKE, or AKS. There is no KubeSpade account and no KubeSpade backend for your cluster credentials.

Does KubeSpade require a Lens or Mirantis account?

When should I stay on Lens?

Stay on Lens if you rely on its extension marketplace, Lens Spaces / team features, or a large existing plugin setup. KubeSpade is a smaller independent client focused on day-to-day cluster work without an account.

You depend on a specific Lens extension.
Your org standardizes on Lens Pro / Spaces.
You need the deepest Prometheus-in-IDE setup Lens already has.

Is KubeSpade a drop-in Lens replacement?

For browsing clusters, logs, YAML, exec, and Helm — yes, that is the job. It is not a drop-in for the Lens extension ecosystem or Lens team features.

Do I need kubectl installed?

Not for clusters you connect in the app. The desktop client talks to the Kubernetes API itself. You can still use kubectl alongside it for scripts.

Is there a free download?

Yes. Desktop builds are on the Download page (GitHub Releases, with SHA256SUMS). Verify the checksum before you install.
